After Hue, the Imperial City, we headed to Hoi An. If Hue is full of history but otherwise a somewhat regular city, Hoi An is a tourist wonder. Its historic center is a great place for tourists to walk around, full of color and calm. The river fills with lights at night and the reflection makes a worthy picture.
Otherwise we didn’t do much else, mainly just walking around the little streets and try new foods. The tailor hype the city holds wasn’t relevant for us, carrying suits around is the last thing we’d want.
Outside the historical center is where the people live, and where we were able to enjoy some football match on TV with the locals. Vietnam was winning the semi finals then and heading to meet Thailand in the finals (spoiler: they lost).
With rain all around the next possible destinations for at least a week, and one bad story about Na trang beach city, we decided our next destination will be directly Sai Gon, or Ho Chi Minh city. Due to our nice room with balcony and bath, we were also able to blend in more with the local culture and use shopee for ordering food. Finally, we also booked a 20-hour bus online using translator and the lady at the hotel helped us to arrange a pick up to the main road, where we caught the bus to our last Vietnam destination.
