Carmel, Israel

In the margins of Carmel National Park, a 20 minute walk from Haifa or Tirat Hacarmel, lies a beautiful caved spring running with cold water all year long.

An additional carved cave was made in Roman era to increase water output. Limestone characterstic of the Israeli geology reveals here many shell fossils. In the background you could see (and climb up to) a big hall of a cave that used to be home to some paleolithic sapiens.

Besides history of many other periods the park reveals amazing nature and different hikes you could do, as well as the Israeli National Trail.
I chose to take Kelah stream, down to Galim, ending my short hike at the Ein Kedem spring. for a longer hike you could start at Yagur and take the pretty and demaning ascend, or for a roundtrip start at the bottom of nahal Galim, going up and through the paleolithic cave, head to Beit Oren and then return through Kelah-Galim
